About this Event
The State of Black Learning UnConference is a mid-year event designed to provide learning opportunities as a continuum to the annual State of Black Learning Conference.
The evening will begin with a conversation led by Haley Taylor Schlitz, 16 year old law student & Malcolm Thomas, Educator & Director of the Reaching Back Program. Following the conversation, a panel of local educators and student-leaders will have a discussion around the educational landscape of black students. Each panelist will have an opportunity to engage audience participation during breakout sessions. During this time, students and educators will facilitate dialogue around what love, liberation, and freedom will look like over the next 10 years for black students. After the breakout sessions wrap up, there will be an opportunity for Q&A .
Dinner will be served at this event.
